Model Panel

The set of AI platforms — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot — used to measure your brand’s comparative AI visibility.

Plain Language Definition

A model panel is the specific group of AI engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot — that you test your brand visibility against. Because each AI platform retrieves and generates differently, your brand may be highly visible on one and nearly absent on another. A well-designed model panel covers the AI platforms your target customers actually use.

Technical Definition

Standardized grouping of API-accessible AI model targets against which comparative brand mention rates, sentiment scores, and citation patterns are measured — enabling cross-platform Share of Model calculations and platform-specific optimization targeting.

Why This Matters for AI Search Visibility

Different AI platforms surface different content because they use different retrieval indexes and ranking models. Testing only one AI platform produces a dangerously incomplete picture. A multi-platform model panel reveals where your optimization is working and where platform-specific gaps exist.
